Gifts Made in Hawaii

Barb Sasaki has found a way to make sleek handbags out of coffee bags. Her business, Sasaki Bags, offers a wide variety of styles and designs. This unique island-focused product makes the perfect gift for the holidays. “All of my purses, totes and handbags are designed by me and made right here in Kona,” shares Sasaki. “I am best known for my coffee bag totes but have other items as well.”

Sasaki has recently joined forces with Colleen Wilcox, a popular Hawaii artist. She has begun licensing Wilcox’s art to create fabric to make new handbags from. The new line launched at the beginning of November and has been very popular at local outlets and online.

Bags range in price from $25 to $200 and are available online at www.SasakiBags.Etsy.com and at retailers around the Big Island including Pueo Boutique, Lynn’s Sundries in the Royal Kona Resort, Kona Mountain Coffee, The Kohala Coffee Mill, and Olivia Clare Boutique.
