“Meet and Eat Program” Thanksgiving Celebration

The Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry announces the 20th Annual Meet and Eat Thanksgiving Dinner. Meet and Eat is a community- based program that is made up of community organizations, churches, and businesses joining together to feed the needy in West Hawaii.

Under the leadership of this year’s coordinator, Ardie Ikeda, the organization expects to serve about 500 meals and, during the past 19 years, has served over 135,000 meals. This year’s event will again be held at the Kealakehe Intermediate School Cafeteria on Wednesday, November 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This year’s event will be dedicated to our many volunteers and donors who have given so much time, energy and expenses in order to preserve the ability for the program to continue servicing those in need. Those wishing to contribute to the organization can contact Ardie Ikeda at 987-1664 or Margo Takata at 960-1392 or Elaine Watai at 896-2785.
