Looks like the end of January will have some moderate surf, and even more waves are on the horizon for next week. On the north and western shores, we will see the surf picking up on Wednesday, Jan. 25, with an overhead W-NW swell on the water that should send us some waves until around Saturday evening. Variable winds early in the week and this mid-range swell could make for some great surfing conditions at select locations. East and southeastern shores will continue to see some overhead surf until the weekend, where the SE swell will slowly start to drop out. More surf from the W-NW is expected for the first week of February, so stay tuned in to the Big Island Weekly for more on that swell. Enjoy the surf and stay safe.

Why no mention of the strong East winds, when and if they will subside, which have been ruining the South East shores for the last 5 days? And what happened to the tide chart?
